Brief Job Description: The Hospice Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed. During the initial start up period, we will be seeking Medicare accreditation. This process may take up to 12 months. During this time the work load will be minimal, approximately 5-10 hours a week. The estimated patient census during this time will be 2 – 3 active patients per month. Each patient may require up to three visits per week. After a Medicare Provider ID is obtained, the work load will increase as the census grows. The founding medical director and administrator has over 12 years experience in hospice care and will support and guide this position during the entire process as needed.
Qualifications: Meets the training requirements of the State of California or holds a valid California license as a certified Nurse Assistant or Home Health Aide.
